Vale – Rod Perrin aged 97 (13 Jan 1925 – 8 May 2022)
Rod was a founding member of the District & a Life Member.
For those that may not know, Rod attended the inaugural meeting where the creation of the Melbourne District was proposed and was elected to the Committee at that meeting.
A few years following the establishment of the District, the position of Membership Secretary was established (the duties previously being handled by the Secretary) and Rod kept the Membership data in those early & pre computer years by hand – at one point the District having in excess of 600 members.
The maintenance of such a data base including written communication to new members & the recording and collection of annual subscriptions is a pivotal role in the District and Rod’s role as a Member of Committee and Membership Secretary for a period of over 20 years was an outstanding contribution.
